Moon Fairy Tutorial

What is needed for this tutorial:

Paint Shop Pro 9
Image of choice…
ScreenWorks plugin…you can get it here
Kiwi Oelfilter…you can get it here
(they are in alphabetical order)
D_gold fold pattern I have supplied.
Right click and save it to your patterns folder

Let’s begin

1. Duplicate your image (Shift + D)
and close the original image.

2. Go to Image > Add Borders and set it to Symmetric 2
and choose a color NOT in your image.

3. With your Magic Wand, select your border
using these settings:
Mode: Replace
Match Mode: RGB Value
Tolerance: 0
Sample Merged: UNchecked
Contiguous: Checked
Feather: 0
Anti-Alias: Checked
Outside

4. Load your D_gold fold pattern into your
FOREGROUND styles box using these settings:
Angle: 0
Scale: 100

5. Flood fill your selected border with the gold pattern.

6. Go to Selections > Invert

7. Go to Effects > 3D Effects > Cutout
and use these settings:
Vertical: 2
Horizontal: 2
Opacity: 100
Blur: 12.50
Shadow Color: Black

8. Repeat the Cutout, EXCEPT change the Vertical
and Horizontal to –2 (minus 2). Deselect (Ctrl + D).

9. Choose a dark color from your image and load it
into your BACKGROUND styles box (an easy way to do
this is RIGHT click using your eyedropper tool on
the color you want and that will automatically put
that color into the background styles box)

10. Go to Image > Add Borders and
change it to Symmetric 5.

11. With your Magic Wand select the border.

12. Flood fill with the color you chose from your image
(RIGHT click on the border with your flood fill tool)

13. Go to Effects > Plugins > Cybia > ScreenWorks
and use these settings:
Dot Screen
Mode: 0

14. Go to Effects > Edge Effects > Enhance. Deselect.

15. Go to Image > Add Borders and change it to
Symmetric 2. Use a color NOT in your image.

16. Select the border with your Magic Wand and
flood fill with the gold pattern.

17. Go to Selections > Invert

18. Go to Effects > 3D Effects > Cutout and
change the Vertical and Horizontal to 0.
Keep everything else the same as it was. Deselect.

19. Go to Image > Add Borders and
change it to Symmetric 5.

20. Select the border with your Magic Wand
and flood fill with the color from your image.

21. Go to Effects > Plugins > Cybia > ScreenWorks
and use the same settings as before.

22. Go to Effects > Edge Effects > Enhance.
Deselect.

23. Go to Image > Add Borders and change it to
Symmetric 2 using a color NOT in your image

24. Select border with your Magic Wand and
flood fill with the gold pattern.

25. Go to Selections > Invert

26. Go to Effects > 3D Effects > Cutout and use
the settings you used last. Deselect.

27. Go to Image > Add Borders and change
it to Symmetric 25

28. Select your border with the Magic Wand
and flood fill with the color from your image.

29. Go to Effects > Plugins > Kiwi’s Oelfilter >
3,5 Promille and use the default settings.

30. Go to Effects > Reflection Effects > Kaleidoscope
and use these settings:
Horizontal Offset: 0
Vertical Offset: 0
Rotation Angle: 45
Scale Factor: - 47 (minus 47)
Number of Petals: 4
Number of Orbits: 0
Radial Suction: 35
Edge Mode: Reflect

31. Go to effects > 3D Effects > Inner Bevel
and use these settings:
Bevel: #2
Width: 25
Smoothness: 53
Depth: 29
Ambience: -14 (minus 14)
Shininess: 51
Color: White
Angle: 315
Intensity: 34
Elevation: 65
Deselect.

32. Repeat the first 5 borders (alternating between
Symmetric 2 and Symmetric 5, don’t forget to use the
ScreenWorks plugin and the cutouts)

Resize to a size that suits you, sharpen if you need
to (Adjust > Sharpness > Sharpen) and save as a .jpg.
